How do I apply for services ?
Application must be made through a referring agency. Most individuals access services through the Department of Public Health and Human Services - Vocational Rehabilitation Services Division or Developmental Disabilities Division, or through the Department of Veteran's Affairs.
Qualifications through DPHHS - Montana Vocational Rehabilitation
1) you must have a physical or mental impairment,
2) which constitutes a substantial handicap to employment, and
3) there must be a reasonable expectation that vocational rehabilitation services will benefit you in terms of employment.

Qualifications through DPHHS - Developmental Disabilities Services:
To qualify for services an individual must meet the State of Montana definition of "developmental disability", which is defined as: a disability that is attributable to mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, or any other neurologically handicapping condition closely related to mental retardation and that requires treatment similar to that required by mentally retarded individuals. A developmental disability is a disability that originates before the individual attained age 18, that has continued or can be expected to continue indefinitely, and that constitutes a substantial handicap of the individual.
