At some point in their lives, most people dream of having their own place to call home. People with disabilities are no different in desiring to reach the important life goal of having their own home. Flathead Industries provides individualized support to assist adults who have disabilities to live on their own or with roommates in their community.

Support Provided

Supported Living clients are able to do many things for themselves. Supported Living staff provide the desired assistance in some areas of independent living as needed including:

• Money Management
• Meal Planning
• Personal Care
• Life Management Skills
• Grocery Shopping
• Cooking
• Home Safety
• Transportation
• Community Activities

Support options can range from one hour per week to 24 hours a day. Flathead Industries uses person-centered planning to insure that each client's individualized service plan reflects his or her personal desires.

GROUP HOME SERVICES

In 1991, we were the first non-profit provider in the Flathead Valley to buid and open a fully accessible group home for individuals with disabilities. Today, we operate three fully accessible group homes in Kalispell, Montana.

Each house is "home" to eight residents. For some, it is the first "home of one's own" after leaving the care of parents. For others, it is a first home after living for many years in an institutional setting.

The eight residents of each home share a distinctive profile, for which individualized, specialized care provides a nurturing and safe living environment. Flathead Industries also offers congregate living options in two smaller home settings.

The goal of Flathead Industries Residential Group Home Living services is to provide services to our residents, regardless of their abilities, enabling them to achieve more through independence, integration and participation in their community.

• We design the level of training to promote residents' greatest independence.
• The home offers a family setting. Residents share daily tasks of running the home, such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, personal shopping and banking.
• We encourage residents to have personal possessions in their room. It is their room and it should reflect their interest.
• Transportation is available for everyone. Every effort will be made to accommodate resident's needs.
